Twelve offerings my love to you,
One for each month we bickered
…and made the stars shine brighter
One for each steamy wisp
Over which we looked into ourselves
One for each time it rained
And made us remember why it was special to be us
One for each time we kissed
And time seemed to come together into space
One for each tear I wished you never spilt
Within brevity knowing it was my life crying for my love
One for each shopping trip you let go to be with me
And the films we will never see…
One for the whispered nothings
Which mean more than everything
One for the unthinking way you consent to jumping tiles in the mall
Just because it was part of us
One for the wonderful walk in school
Needless more be said
One for the hands that clasped mine for clustering
Love never came in such a large measure nor wonder
One for the pain, hurt and sadness
Which brought us to us
One for the smiles you bring to me
Every morning when I know I reach you through
This misty oneness called Love.
